About Us
We represent the best electrical professionals that Michiana has to offer. We know – because we trained many of them. Through a partnership between the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers 153 and the Northern Indiana chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association, we are training the next generation of electrical professionals through our Apprenticeship and Training Program out of South Bend, Indiana. The Powering Michiana team supplies the determined, dependable professionals to keep up with our area’s increasing demand for talented, well-trained electricians.
Our team consists of craftsmen of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and their signatory contractors—including those who are members of the National Electrical Contractors Association, supported by the electrical training ALLIANCE.
The Northern Indiana chapter of NECA and IBEW Local 153 together have created the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) to train Michiana’s next generation of electrical professionals. Our mission is to train, support, and represent the past, present, and future electrical workers of Michiana – giving our area a superior workforce of craftspeople to light the way to a better future for all.
